Everyone
- What is thankyou?
thankyou is an independent gift registry service. This means you are not restricted to select items from any one store or online catalogue.
The service offers flexibility and individuality for those planning a special occasion - whether it be a wedding, a baby shower or any of life's big events.
For a one off registration fee, Occasion Organisers can prepare and manage a gift registry, print invitation inserts, write special notes to Guests and ensure that Guests are not charged administration or access fees for using the service.
At the moment, thankyou does not buy or deliver gifts, we provide you with a service for creating and managing your gift registry.

- How is thankyou different from other gift registries?
thankyou is not aligned to any single department store or online shop. Therefore, you are able to list any kind of gifts from wherever you like - Spanish lessons or football memberships and anything in between!
Guests are not charged anything to use the service and are able to view your registry and then purchase one of your desired gifts at a time and location convenient for them.
- How do I purchase a gift?
Once you have decided which gift you will purchase, and selected to remove it from the gift registry (to ensure it is not also purchased by another guest) - you are able to buy the gift at your leisure, either from the suggested store listed on thankyou, or at another more convenient store.
At the moment it is not possible to purchase your gift online at thankyou.

- How much does it cost to use thankyou?
There is no charge for Guests to use the site.
An Occasion Organiser pays a one off registration fee of $95. Save 50%, register today and pay only $45.
The registration fee means you can prepare a gift registry and edit it as often as you like. The service fee also enables you to take advantage of the other features on the site such as Invitation Insert templates, Messages to Guests and grants access to as many Guests as you wish.
In addition to your gift registry, a summary of which Guests purchased what gifts will be stored for up to six months after the occasion. This will help you to prepare your thank-you notes after the celebrations are over.
Organisers
- Isn't it a bit bold to assume my Guests want to buy me something?
Because this is a special occasion your Guests will want to give you something to help you remember the day forever. By compiling a list of items which will be really special or useful to you means that Guests know you will treasure their gift.
So, thankyou helps Guests to give you something, no matter how traditional or unusual that will add something special to your life.
- How do I let my Guests know about my gift registry at thankyou?
You can print off personal labels or cards called 'Invitation Inserts' on your home computer using the thankyou templates.
Placing these cards in your invitations is a simple and stylish way of letting your Guests know about your gift registry.
- How long is my gift registry available for?
You can register your Occasion and start compiling your gift registry with thankyou as early as you wish. It is important to register prior to sending out your invitations.
Your registry will be available for six months after your Occasion. This allows you to send out thankyou cards at your leisure. In some situations arrangements can be made to extend the availability of your gift registry beyond the usual six months.
- Can I use my gift registry for more than one occasion?
It is possible to use your gift registry for an Engagement party and then a Wedding without re-registering and paying the additional registration fee. However, you will need to update the details of your gift registry before it is closed down (which is 6 months after the Engagement party date).
For all other occasions you will need to register a separate gift registry for each occasion.

- How do I ensure there are no 'double ups' with gifts?
When Guests view your registry on thankyou they are asked to select the gift they have decided to purchase. After entering their name (to help you with your thank-you cards!) the item will be removed from the gift registry. This useful feature aims to ensure that you only receive one toaster and not 20!
It is also possible to display items on your registry that have already been purchased. New Guests cannot re-select the item, but they are able to see that the towels and sheets have already been purchased by another Guest.
It is up to you, the Occasion Organiser, to decide whether purchased items are displayed or not.
- Can I ask Guests to make a contribution towards an expensive item?
Yes! It is possible to list expensive items and ask Guests to contribute to them.
- Can I insert my own pictures of the items I would like?
Yes! It is possible to load pictures of the gifts you would like to receive.
- How do I keep my gift registry secure?
The services provided to Occasion Organisers are all protected by a user name and password which you select. We advise you not to share this information with anyone.
You can decide what level of security you would like for Guests viewing your registry.
You can request Guests to type in a 'Guest Word'. A 'Guest Word' is a password, determined by you, which anyone viewing your gift registry must enter before gaining access. If you select to use a Guest Word, it will automatically be printed on your invitation inserts.
- What is a "Guest Word"?
A 'Guest Word' is an added level of security which prevents just anyone looking at your registry. Your Guests must type in the word (chosen by you) to gain access to your registry. This is a purely optional security feature.
The Guest Word is printed on the invitation inserts which are sent to your Guests along with your invitations.

- How do I use thankyou?
There are three steps you need to follow to find a gift registry
- Step 1: Look for the "Find a gift list" option on the home page.
- Step 2: Enter the Occasion Type, the Last Name of the 'host' of the occasion (the person who the party is all about!) or the Occasion Date and select Search. You will need to enter at least two pieces of information.
- Step 3: If more than one gift list is found matching your criteria a list will be displayed, select the appropriate event. If you are asked to enter a 'Guest Word' you will find it on the card that came in your invitation. For more information about Guest Words click here.
You will then be taken directly to the gift registry and you can browse through the list at your leisure. You can log back on as often as you like.
When you have decided what gift to purchase please 'select' it to remove it from the list. You must then fill out a few simple details, to help your host send you a 'thank you' note after the event.
You can purchase your selected gift at your leisure from the recommended store or somewhere more convenient for you. thankyou does not currently offer you the ability to buy online.
